The Beaver Creek, located outside of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin (aka "the Chipwuh Dome"), has a happy bunch of Wisconsin black bears. The attached short video clips tell a part of the Beaver Creek Bears' story.
The first video sequence shows young Rascal, a 2025 newcomer to Beaver Creek, trying his paw at bear photography. Young male bears are sometimes aspiring photographers, and rearrange our cameras for better bear photography. Our current working theory is that Rascal was born 2021. He should have quite the growth spurt sometime during the 2026 Bear Year.
With the Beaver Creek Bears, one should expect the unexpected. Even so, we like to summarize what we may see from the Beaver Creek Bears in a given Bear Year before the new Bear Year gets underway. Our Beaver Creek Bear expectations are referred to as Bear Mystery Theatre. The following videos detail a quantum of the 2026 Beaver Creek Bear Mystery Theatre questions.
The young male Beaver Creek Bears often play and dance at The Play Pen - the crossroads of several wildlife trails. As shown, the Beaver Creek Bears are frequently quite comfortable dancing under the camera lights....allowing us a close look at their behavior in a secluded natural environment, such as Beaver Creek.
For those interested in foraging and mushrooms, our exquisite bride, Hunter, has an online store with various mushroom products - The Mushroom Lover.
We recommend Hunter's Porcini Rub, which is sublime seasoning when cooking or grilling rib eye steaks. And Hunter's children's book, Where The Mushrooms Are, is a fun way to get your toddlers interested in nature and everything interwald.
